D23 2026 just delivered the biggest update yet.Disney has now revealed the concepts for both major attractions planned for the new Villains Land beyond Big Thunder Mountain. 

🐉 1. Maleficent Coaster

The first attraction is a thrilling roller coaster centered on Maleficent.

You’ll race through an enchanted briar surrounding Maleficent’s mountaintop fortress after accepting her invitation. Disney says the ride will contain elements Imagineers have never attempted before on a similar attraction, suggesting this could be one of the more technically ambitious coasters at Walt Disney World. 

🪞 2. Magic Mirror Dark Ride

The second attraction is a dark ride through the Magic Mirror’s realm.

Guests will encounter the Magic Mirror from Snow White, located beneath the Evil Queen’s palace. The Mirror then transports you into a surreal realm where you’ll encounter numerous Disney villains through a combination of physical sets and special effects. 

🌑 The land itself

The story is particularly cool: instead of simply creating a collection of villain-themed areas, Disney is creating an original story in which a dark spell brings these villains together. Characters inspiring the land include Maleficent, Ursula, Hades, Jafar, Cruella de Vil, the Evil Queen and others. 

Disney’s latest concept work also shows a creepy Dark Forest, twisted trees with almost human characteristics, ominous pathways and heavily atmospheric architecture. 

And this is officially a two-attraction land, with restaurants and shopping included—not just a themed walkthrough. Disney has confirmed that from the beginning. 

So Magic Kingdom’s huge expansion is shaping up as:

• 🦹 Villains Land — Maleficent coaster + Magic Mirror dark ride

That’s four new attractions across the two new lands.
