Expedition Everest Yeti coming back to life at Animal Kingdom

Disney appears to be moving toward bringing the Yeti back to life on Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain.

The big development is that reports today are circulating about a new Yeti animatronic rather than simply repairing the existing figure. The current Yeti has been operating in its “Disco Yeti”/strobe-light mode since the original full-motion system was disabled because of structural concerns.

And honestly, if they pull this off, it could completely change the ride. The original Yeti was one of the most impressive animatronics Disney had ever built, and seeing that creature actually move toward the train again would restore the payoff that made Everest legendary.
